The Difference Between Overband Magnetic Separator And Inline Magnetic Separator
Though the working principles of an overband magnetic separator and an inline magnetic separator are extremely similar, their purpose and performance are vastly different.
This site was created specifically to distinguish between these items and to help you (the readers) understand what would be the best option for your needs.
This topic's information, articles, and drawings will also be on display.
What is the difference between an OBMS (Overband Magnetic Separator) and an OBMS (Overband Magnetic Separator)?
An overband magnetic separator consists of a suspension magnet with a tramp belt connected to a motor that rotates the belt. It's mostly employed when ferrous contamination needs to be removed automatically.
It's primarily used to remove tramp metal from products, vibratory feeders, inclined planes, or simply to protect machines like crushers and shredders. Industries that use this product include Foundries, Coal Mines, Cement Works, Food, Sponge Iron, Charcoal, Glass, Chemical Industries, and Domestic Waste Recycling Plants.
Working & Application:
A few parameters must be extracted while choosing the type of overband, such as the belt speed, the nature of the product, its density, granulometry, and the size of the pieces.
The Magnet is made of High-Intensity Strontium Ferrite / Rare Earth Magnets, and its Magnetic Power is guaranteed for the duration of the installation. The magnet poles are covered with a non-magnetic stainless steel plate. There is no requirement for an electricity source or upkeep.
One of the elements to consider while choosing the type of Overband is the speed of the belt, the nature of the product, its density, granulometry, and the size of the pieces that must be extracted.
- Five types of Separators Redesigned to operate at a predetermined working gap over the conveyor : 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300mm.
- 100mm
- 150mm
- 200mm
- 250mm
- 300mm
An inline magnetic separator integrates high-intensity strontium/rare earth magnets in a drum type closed arrangement that is connected to production lines such as the outlet of an elevator or screw conveyor in large applications for the separation of ferrous waste from products. Cattle feed plants, wheat mills, rice mills, mineral extractions, refractories, glass cleaning, and a variety of other items employ them.
Working Principle And Magnetic System:
Permanent Magnetic Drum Working Principle and Magnetic System: A permanent magnetic drum is made up of a stationary permanent magnetic assembly that produces a uniform and everlasting magnetic field across the entire width of the drum, with the magnetic field being more effective over about half of the circumference.
The nonmagnetic stainless steel drum shell circles around the inner magnet. A powerful magnetic field attracts and holds ferrous particles to the revolving shell as the material fed evenly from the chute falls over the drum, and as the revolving shell carries the iron particles through the stationary magnetic field, the non magnetic material falls freely from the shell while ferrous particles are firmly held until carried beyond the divider and out through the magnetic material chute.
Size Ranges:
The volume of material that can be handled is proportional to the diameter and width of the drum. Permanent Drum Separators come in conventional drum diameters of 300mm, 400mm, 450mm, 500mm, 600mm, 900mm, and 1200mm, as well as drum widths of 300mm to 2000mm. There are a variety of other sizes available, but they are only made to order.
