What is a double drum magnetic separator?
The double drum magnetic separator is a self-cleaning unit that provides continuous iron removal from free-flowing bulk and granular materials. The magnetic separator can continuously separate magnetic and non-magnetic materials with a purification rate of more than 98%.

The double magnetic drum separator consists of a stationary permanent magnet assembly that has a uniform and long-lasting magnetic field across the entire width of the drum.
The non-magnetic stainless steel drum shell rotates around a magnetic field. The material is fed uniformly from the chute and falls over the drum, where strong magnets attract the iron particles and hold them in the rotating casing.
While the iron particles are held firmly, the rotating shell carries the iron particles through the stationary magnetic field and allows the non-magnetic material to freely fall away from the shell.
How does a double drum magnetic separator separate iron from stainless steel?
Stainless steel materials are fed to the top of the drum magnet, where magnetically sensitive materials such as irons are attracted to the magnetic field of the stationary internal magnetic system and held to the surface of the drum magnet's rotating shell.
The rotating jacket transports the iron particles from the magnetic field where they are discharged into a receiving conveyor or collection area. Non-magnetic material is unaffected and flows along a normal trajectory.
